SAULT, an anonymous R&B collective, released two critically acclaimed albums in 2020, during a summer of global racial unrest which followed the murder of George Floyd.

The projects, Untitled (Black Is) and Untitled (Rise), were praised by publications including NME, who featured the former in its list of the 50 best albums of 2020. On June 15 this year, the group shared a post on Instagram suggesting a new project was on the way, titled Nine, following on from their 2019 projects 5 and 7. A day later, SAULT confirmed the album would be released on June 25, adding ‘Nine will only exist for ninety nine days. You can download from sault.global. Available on vinyl and all streaming platforms’.
